22.05.12:Roseland Online has had reports back from residents that their recent Radon test results have been high; in some cases as much as 3 times over the level considered ‘acceptable’.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has advised that indoor radon above an Action Level of 200 becquerels per cubic metre should be reduced. Most homes in the UK have fairly low radon levels, with an average of about 20 becquerels per cubic metre, but residents on the Roseland have had their three month trials back with reports much higher than this but with little information as to what this means for health and how to tackle the problem, Roseland Online has been told.

To dispel rumour and obtain clarity on this matter, Roseland Online has contacted several sources to ascertain what ‘high’ levels means for our health locally and what we can do to reduce the amount of Radon in our homes.
