All the Things that could go Wrong by Stewart Foster – Published by Simon & Schuster, 2017
Dan is a bully and in his classmate Alex he and his mates have a ready made victim.
Alex has OCD. His condition is described with incredible care and devastating accuracy.
A wonderful story covering not just the two main characters but also their friends and families. It’s both realistic and moving. One of those rare books that transports you right back to your own schooldays: the desire to belong, the stress, the fear, the fun (in various proportions, according to personal experience).
I really wanted to tell Alex “this too shall pass”.
Books of this quality aimed at young teens make me feel truly optimistic about the future of reading by that age group.
