11.08.11: Roseland Kennels & Cattery are staging a charity event in aid of the Phoenix Stroke Appealon Sunday 4th September. The event is called ‘Jazz In The Kennels’, will have music by the well known Pennyroyal Jazz Band, supported by The Groove Loaders covers band from Guildford (all students from the famous ACM music college).
Organiser, Chris Cardell, from the kennels told Roseland Online, “There should be music to suit all taste there and we are also very lucky to have Lady Mary Holborow (Lord Lieutenant Of Cornwall and Patron Of The Phoenix Stroke Appeal) to officially open the evening. There will also be a Bar, Barbeque and a fantastic Prize Draw for everyone to enjoy.”
Tickets are available in advance at £5 from the kennels and the evening event will be staged under cover.
DCPA Warning of ‘Ring The Change’ Scam
10.08.11: Devon and Cornwall Police want residents to be aware that they have received reports of males committing the “ringing the changes” scam in the Kingsbridge and Salcombe areas, but they believe they may be travelling around the whole of the south west.
These males are described as being white, approx 5ft 9 to 5ft 10ins tall, slim build with short greying/mousey hair and aged between late 30’s to 65.
The DCPA advise you to tell your staff to be wary of anyone presenting large denomination notes, £10s and £20s and trying to confuse them when asking for change or paying for items. If you have persons trying this scam please contact the Police on 08452 777444 quoting Crime No. JK/11/561 with as much detail as possible.
