Cornwall’s first Midnight Mermaid Walk in aid of breast cancer will take place on the on June 1st June and the Roseland is hosting its own version of events right here. The walks offer the chance to support a good cause and also to taste the hidden treasures of St Mawes, with fantastic views from the castle.
Serendipity, the organisers, will supply entertainment from 6pm and dinner will be provided by celebrated chef, Simon Stallard, of the Hidden Hut. The walk itself will start at midnight, with the full marathon distance being 9 laps of St Mawes. If preferred, entrants can register as a team of mermaids to share the challenge, or even sign up to a half marathon distance. After the event, the participating mermaids can partake in an early morning breakfast provided at the finish line by Simon again.
Local, Amelia Whittaker, will also be holding training sessions throughout May every Tuesday evening at 6pm and every Friday morning from 10 am. Those wishing to help raise money for breast cancer Cornwall can meet at Nearwater in St Mawes for both sessions every week up until the big day.
