30.04.12: A new cafe and baking business has opened up in St Mawes Arcade. Brainchild of patisserie trained baker Thomas Merritt, his new business will utilise the skills learned both at the school and from my mum and grandmothers.

Tom told Roseland Online, “I want to provide my customers with cooking that has a home feel, is fresh, and offers excellent value for money, without compromising quality. And where possible I use local Cornish suppliers for my baking ingredients. I intend to deliver my pasties and pies frozen for customers to cook when required as their quality isn’t affected by this method.”

Tom supplies individuals and local businesses with cakes, desserts and celebration cakes. He can also do funeral teas, children’s party food, event buffets and weddings, Christenings etc. As well as deliver food for business meetings.
