21.04.11: A new publication entitled ‘Discovering whats on our Doorstep’ has been launched which extols the virtues of the arts in and around Treloan Farm Hioidays (aka, ‘Arthur’s Field’). This free publication has been created by Annie Lovejoy under the Caravanserai project and features all the various Arts events they oranise throughout the year in Portscatho. It also features the history of ‘Arthur’s Field’ and many things to in and around the much celebrated campsite.
Useful info and historical anecdotes are combined with memories, stories, traditional skills, crafts, recipes, artwork and poetry – the book is full of contributions from Gerrans and Portscatho residents. Local historian, Hilary Thomson, has overseen its final stages and written a wonderful ‘last word’ on the ‘poetry of history’ – how a place is deeply ingrained with the experiences of those that have gone before us.
