The Parish Churches of St. Gerrans and St. Philleigh, with The Hidden Hut, got together for a Tide Fight at Portscatho.
On Saturday 16th August, over 250 people crowded onto Porthnurnick Beach, building sandcastles along the shoreline. Portscatho Tide Fight 2014 had begun. 32 teams from around the country took part both visitors and locals. The busy builders were offered refreshments, from the Hidden Hut.
The event was organised by St Gerrans and St Philleigh churches with generous support from the Hidden Hut.
It was a great afternoon, the weather was kind and the donuts tasty; a wonderful community event.
Speaking to Roseland Online about the Tide Fight, organisers said ‘The event was not about raising money or promoting our churches. It was about having fun and about bringing people together. We were amazed at how many people turned up and got involved. It was great to see parents and children, coming together, talking, laughing and creating memories. Special thanks to the Hidden Hut Team, who supported us and provided refreshments to the teams’.
Photos of the event can be seen on their Facebook page.
