Portscatho’s reputation for fine foods notched up a few pegs in the last few weeks. Just last night, Simon Stallard’s Hidden Hut team opened up their new restaurant, Tatams Wood-Fired Taverna.
This sleek and modern eatery, which is beside their coffee shop on the sea-front, will be serving Stonebaked Pizzas and Wood-fired kebabs and falafel from 5.30 – 9pm currently Thursday to Sunday.
Earlier this month, Portscatho’s Boathouse, which was taken over last year by Alison McCoy and helped by her daughter, Annie, has become a hub of activity for coffee shop lovers. The comfortable and relaxed atmosphere they’ve created has quickly become a firm favourite with locals and is open daily this week from 9am – 4pm for breakfasts and lunches, but check out their Facebook page for updates on opening times.
And if that’s not enough for you, Roger and Helen Cazaly at the Plume of Feathers have just celebrated their first anniversary whilst achieving excellence for their hard work by receiving St Austell Brewery’s coveted ‘New Tenant of the Year’ award.
Their restaurant already has a local reputation for serving excellent food and with the B&B already taking bookings for the year ahead and their ‘special’ evenings like this week’s Valentine’s supper and quiz nights booking out quickly, along with the other eateries above, we think it’s fair to say Portscatho is going to be a firm favourite this summer for gastro-lovers.
