Roseland Surgeries are pleased to announce details of our forthcoming influenza vaccination programme for Autumn 2015.
We will be holding a special ‘Flu Day’ here at Portscatho Surgery on Friday 9th October from 9 am. Patients are requested to contact the surgery to book an appointment at their earliest convenience – please do not wait for your invitation to attend. Immunisation against influenza is recommended for anyone over the age of 65, those with chronic diseases such as asthma, heart/lung disease and diabetes and pregnant women. We are hoping we’ll see over 500 people on that one day!!
We have also arranged transport with the Roseland Community Transport bus service – this will pick up outside The Rising Sun in St Mawes at 08.30 am and at the bus stop at Polvarth Estate at 08.40 am for appointments between 9 am to 10 am. The bus will leave the surgery just after 10 am to get back to St Mawes and there will be a second pick up at 10.30 am and 10.40 am for appointments between 11 and 12 noon, after which the bus will return again to St Mawes.
For patients in Tregony, the Community Bus will pick up at The Square at 1.30 pm for appointments between 2 pm and 3 pm and a final pick up at 3.30 pm for appointments between 4 pm and 5 pm. This will leave the surgery at 5 pm for the return journey back to Tregony. The transport can take a maximum of 15 passengers and we would be very grateful for any donations from patients to help us with costs. This service will be available to patients who have transport issues but please remember to book your appointment to fit in with the bus pick up, as above.
We would like to remind all our patients that the vaccination services provided by the Roseland Surgeries are not only vital for the health of the population, but the income they bring to our practice helps fund many other services throughout the rest of the year. Other organisations may approach you offering to provide an alternative service, but please remember they will not have access to your medical records and cannot give other immunisations, such as those to protect you again pneumonia, which are often given at the same time.
Please don’t delay – book your appointment on our special ‘Flu Day as soon as you can. We look forward to seeing you all then.
Many thanks
Nicola Hayward, Practice Manager
