The Roseland Academy students today collected their GCSE results, achieving “outstanding results” for another year.
There was cause for huge celebration at The Roseland Academy today as Year 11 students received their GCSE results and celebrated their success with staff, parents and friends.
Richard Clarke, Headteacher, congratulated students saying, “I’m proud to announce that our students have again achieved beyond all expectations. This year group were disrupted so much over the past 2 years, but pulled together and achieved a fantastic set of results.”
Early indications are this could be The Roseland Academy’s highest achieving year group ever, with the average GCSE grades received exceeding previous records.
“Their success is down to the hard work and dedication applied by our Year 11 students and the ongoing, unwavering support of our staff at The Roseland Academy – we’re all tremendously proud of them.”
The year group faced difficulties from the global pandemic, having their teaching and exams interrupted, but have outperformed projections with these results.
Emma Atkins, Learning Leader for Year 11, added that “The students’ sustained effort in all of their subjects throughout the exam season has really paid off. Despite
the challenges these students have faced, every student attended all their exams and completed all their courses. These results will allow them to access the courses they want on the next steps in their education.”
There have been many individual outstanding successes including: Rufus achieving 7 Grade 9s, 2 Distinction Stars and a Grade 8. Niamh achieving 7 Grade 9s, a Distinction Star and a Grade 8 and a 7, and Edward achieving 7 Grade 9s, a Distinction and a Grade 8.
Mr Clarke added: “It’s great to see everyone so excited, especially as many students surpassed their own goals. They should all feel extremely proud of themselves, just as all members of staff at The Roseland Academy are proud of them.”
“As we say our final goodbyes to the class of 2022, we wish them a fantastic rest of the summer and the best of luck in the future; be it in further education, work or travel.”
Big congratulations too from Roseland Online!
