13.03.12: A group of people from St Mawes are embarking on a new secret video filming project to raise money for local organisations. Filmmaker and local resident, Andrew Ayre, created a similar project for fun with fifteen friends in 2005 based on Peter Kay’s Comic Relief version of Tony Christie’s Amarillo.
Andrew told Roseland Online, “[Amarillo] was filmed during 2 weeks in June 2005 and was premiered in the St Mawes social club in July that year and played again during Falmouth week and was viewed on a huge screen by over 2000 people. The video proved to be a huge success and brought a great buzz to the village.
They have decided to keep the subject of the new video under wraps but Roseland Online has been given an exclusive tipoff that it will be based on BBC’s The One Show and feature music videos. And, like Amarillo, there will be a behind-the-scenes video which will include a blooper reel.
Andrew added, “I received a Facebook message with an idea for a music video and the idea was great, so it was right to get boys back together again. But this time on a much bigger scale with new members joining the team. Including cast and crew, we now have 23 people taking part.”
For more information, you can visit AK Productions & AA Productions’ Facebook pages where you see pictures & videos of the filming. The finished video will also be available on Roseland Online later in the year. In the mean time you can view their version of the Amarillo Video by clicking here.
