06.08.11: Lifeworks (whose aims to tackle exclusion, disadvantage and inequality as concerns children and young adults with learning difficulties) is holding a surfing event at Polzeath on 3rd September. There will be free 1:1 surf lessons for children and young people (aged 8 to 25) who have learning disabilities, including autism. There will also be group surfing lessons for siblings, parents and carers… so a fun day for everyone.
Founded in 1996 by a group of parents, teachers and carers, Lifeworks has blossomed into a well-established organisation with a reputation for care, quality and achieving their goals. They deliver projects dedicated to providing learning-disabled children and young adults with confidence and life-skills that ensure a self-sustainable future, that promote a fluid transition into adulthood, and that encourage their inclusion in the community as valued and active members.
