PLANNED REOPENING 2023
Over the last few weeks, the charity committee have met with some incredible future users of the The Roseland Centre (‘TRC’) and these organisations were extremely enthusiastic about the reopening by Easter 2023. They will be using the site for school group residentials and day trips, making the most of the variety of outdoor and wellbeing activities on offer on the Roseland, led by a range of instructors, local businesses and organisations.
The Roseland Surgeries have secured a grant for TRC to set up a community growing area on site and the committee have welcomed the professional help of a local permaculture garden designer to assist on this project. This green space will be visible to passers-by at the front of the property and will be for the use of the community with the help of volunteers and the TRC team. While the first phase of refurbishment is underway, this community garden will be a practical teaching aid for the community to learn about this sustainable and environmentally-friendly way of growing edible plants.
There has been some interest in the advertisement for a Centre manager, meanwhile a group of committee members are working together on the aspects of organisation this position will cover. The deadline for applications is Thursday 15th December.
Our current sub-committees consist of Live Operations, Site Work, Fundraising, Business Planning, Marketing and Communications, Policy and Governance. If you would like to join the committee and can see where you would be helpful, please get in touch. We’re especially looking for help with IT support, social media, marketing, sustainability and the community garden project.
