Polly and Pals Put on a Talent Show! by Vinay Nair
Rather a different review from the usual. Why? Well, this delightful little book, aimed at one to three year olds, hasn’t actually been published yet.
Polly and Pals is a ‘lift-the-flap’ book (or pop-up book if you’re of a similar vintage to me) aimed at helping girls (and boys) see they’re equally talented. On reading the first couple of pages, I could clearly see the childhood me in Polly (or vice versa), although I still can’t do keepie-uppies.
The prototype is handwritten, which makes it ‘that little bit different’, and for me, adds to its simple charm. I can’t wait to see it ‘in print’.
The author is interviewed in this month’s Writers Talking. He explains why he needs advice about how to get published and sets out how you can help. Thanks in advance!
