Rory The Dragon and Princess Daisy by Bill Kirton. Pictures by Joe Kirton
Produced by the Daisy Chain Friends’ Group, with all money raised from the sale of the book going to Children’s Hospice South West, which provided care for Daisy Elizabeth Warn, who died aged 16 weeks. Her family and friends set up the Daisy Chain Fund to raise money for this incredible charity, which supported them throughout her short life.
Described as “an exciting new fairy story aimed at children aged 5-8”.
Life as a dragon isn’t all breathing fire and capturing princesses. And, being a princess isn’t that much fun either. Apparently, wearing dungarees and helping to make a badger sett isn’t the “done thing”.
Fortunately, when Rory and Daisy meet, they realise it can be fun being different.
Verdict: don’t be put off by the suggested age range. Whilst, I’m sure children will enjoy it, this over 21 year old loved it too. A delightful, quirky and amusing little book, written to support a wonderful cause*****
Copies of the book are available from Fudge& Moore and The Post Office in St Mawes. Price £4.95
