Stage 3 Royal Wotton Bassett to Burghclere Berkshire.
After a couple of climbs over chalk ridges my Brother Brian, (aka “The Major”), appeared on the horizon near Marlborough. A very welcome sight as he had lunch ready and the kettle on the boil. The Major has a generous ‘in loco parentis’ role and provided transport for my Pannier bags which were heavy. I must review my take list in future.
Stage 4 Burghclere Berkshire to Shedfield near Portsmouth.
Dream cycling through quiet Hampshire lanes with many Tea Van stops courtesy of The Major.
Stage 5 Shedfield near Portsmouth to Worthing, Sussex.
First views of The English Channel coast overlooking Portsmouth. Very busy roads all day despite routes mainly along B roads. Near the village of Yapton, close to Littlehampton, The Major had parked up for Tea in a lay-by in front of a bungalow where a lovely couple, Dorothy and Roy, gave a donation to H4H. This was typical of so many people I met along the way, all very keen to support the wonderful work that H4H provide to our Heroes of today.
Your fantastic sponsorship support for Help for Heroes is hugely appreciated and really powers those pedals! Donations are always welcome by clicking here: www.justgiving.com/Remembrance100HenryEvans
